Igor Borovikov, Softline’s founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors, was born in 1964 in Shuya, a city from the Ivanovo region in Russia. He studied engineering, mathematics and physics at the Moscow State University, where he graduated in 1986, just before coursing a PhD on physics and mathematics, which he finished in 1989, at the same university.
Igor is married and has five children. He has many hobbies and passions but he’s mostly interested in sculpture, philosophy and psychology.
In 1993, Igor created Softline with a team of just 10 people. Today, more than 25 years later, the company has 6,000 worldwide employees, and operates in over 50 countries around the world, focusing mostly on emerging markets.
